Lake District trip
paveyark.jpg

Happy Easter all. Spring has sprung, the birds are singing. The fields are alive with gambolling lambs... and speaking of which, I have a new jar of mint sauce waiting to be cracked open later this evening.

I hope you all manage to get at least a few days climbing in this Easter, and come back fighting fit, fully psyched and on a chocolate induced sugar-high ready to do some more.

Next trip is on the weekend of the 25th/26th April to the Lake District.

The plan so far (subject to slight modifications, big changes and full-on U-turns):

Shepherds CragLeave 5ish Friday night, returning 8ish Sunday evening.
Camping in Langdale for two nights. Maybe near a pub if you want to be lazy and eat there, but for now assume you will need to cook your own stuff. You will need food and a tent (or a friend willing to share these things) and a sleeping bag (or a *very* willing friend)
Climbing will be on somewhere like Ravens or Gimmer crags on Day One, which have lots of classic Lakes rock at reasonably sensible grades. Day two we may head out towards Borrowdale. Potentially Shepherds crag, but we go there a lot so I fancy somewhere new. No doubt someone with more Lakes experience than me will suggest something good.

Price £15 - £20

'Those who want to share sleeping bags will need a willing partner'If you want to sign up then email me back by Wednesday. That way at least I can get a rough idea of numbers and go about booking the campsite and pricing things up.
Traditionally we take a minibus on trips but they're expensive and don't play nicely with narrow roads and soft campsites. Could you let me know if you have a car and I'll see if we can do this without one.

I saw a lot of people there with cameras, if you have any good pictures, could you send them through so I can put them on the website. Now the exciting bit, the new Committee...
